Giving December Day 9

Sometimes, the best gift you can give to your partner and yourself is the Gift of Forgiveness,  to say “I’m sorry” and “I forgive you”. Saying these words can make you both feel happier in your relationship. It doesn’t mean that you forget what happened or that it was okay. It just means that you don’t want to be angry or sad anymore. You want to move on and enjoy your relationship.

Here are some ways you can show your partner that you forgive them:

  • Write them a note saying how you feel and that you forgive them. You can either give them the note or keep it for yourself as a way of letting go.
  • Talk to them and tell them that you forgive them and that you hope they forgive you too. You can also talk about how you can avoid hurting each other again in the future.
  • Do something nice for them that makes them smile. You can give them a gift, a compliment, a hug, or a date night. You can also do something fun together, like watching a movie, going for a walk, or playing a game.
  • Be thankful for your partner and your relationship. Every day, think of three things that you love about your partner and tell them. You can also write them down in a journal or a card. Being thankful can help you see the good things in your relationship and feel less bad about the past.
